Making a Merry Christmas

For just a moment, I invite you to use your mind to walk with me into your Christmas day. Imagine entering the places you will celebrate with your eyes closed. Even without catching sight of the Christmas traditions like the tree spilling over with timeless treasures from Christmases past, I bet you would know what day it was. The sounds of Christmas are unmistakable – bells, laughter, paper ripping and those familiar voices and songs. The smells of pine, bright fireplaces, and honeyed ham fill the air. The taste of Christmas blends the creaminess of eggnog with the sugary fudge and the cheeks of loved ones. The touch of Christmas includes velvety dresses, Santa’s beard and warm hands. Our sixth sense connects us with those around us prompting us to ask questions to take the conversation deeper, to know the sensitive subjects we can leave alone for anoth er day and that perfect gift that touches the heart of those we care for.

Christmas is a full being experience and that is part of its magic. Its sights, sounds, smells, touches, tastes and feelings transport us to the past – our childhood and every Christmas since and forward with hope that all good things are possible. To me the best part is being present in the moment with our senses highly honed including our eyes wide open.

Even though Christmas will come and go, we can continue to deeply connect to our senses bringing more magic to everyday. Our senses are more prevalent when we are present in the moment and that is easier when we have a clear mind. A free mind com es when we have released expectations of what the holidays are supposed to be like and when we have healed patterns that keep us locked to an unhealthy past. We can visualize our perfect holiday and those intentions will bring blessings. It is in the surrendering to what is that will bring us freedom though. When we settle into the realness of life, life gets easier. Even for those that are spending the holidays alone or in a way that doesn't meet their idea of magic, there are blessings to be found. It’s not settling for, it’s settling in and peace can be found there. We can walk through life being the peace we want to see and peace more readily finds us in that state. I wish you precious moments throughout this holiday season.

Winter supports us in healing and quieting the mind and I support you in aligning with winter. This is a powerful time to forgive ourselves, to forgive others, and to ask others to forgive us. I have walked the healing path with many and will walk it with you. Contact me when you are ready.
